HAPPY NEW YEAR!

1 min read
Happy New Year, everyone! From Philippines :)
2013 wasn't such a bad year, I must say. During that year, some of my wishes came true but I also lost a lot of precious things to me especially due to Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). I've decided that I lost them for a reason.
2013 was supposed to be the year wherein I'd start making comics already but because I was busy with school and other things plus I didn't have a graphic tablet yet, I didn't get to fulfill that goal.
BUT, good news is that last December 23, 2013 I finally acquired a tablet. It's the simple kind so it's just for starters. Next time, I'll buy one with greater quality.
Hopefully this year, I can finally start making digital art works and comics. :)

Hi, guys! Recently we had a press conference in my new school. I joined as a feature writer, sports news writer and technical sound effects operator for our radio broadcast. Preparing for the event got me very busy but it was worth it 'cause we got 1st runner up in the over-all. :) Here are our rewards:
- Best Male Anchor (my teammate, Jeff)
- Best Technical Sound Effects (me)
- Journalist of the Year (my teammate, Tranie)
- 2nd place in sports news writing-English (me)
- 2nd place in sports news writing-Filipino (my teammate, Kuya Rancy)
- 3rd place in feature writing (me again, could have been 2nd place if my title didn't have an error)
- 1st in editorial writing (my teammate, Cha)
- 1st place in copyreading-Filipino (Tranie)
- 2nd place in copyreading-English (Tranie again)

That's all I can remember right now. xD I'm happy that our hardwork paid off.
So far, I'm doing good with my new classmates. I'm actually starting to become close with them. They're very nice. :)
And I just found out that one of my friends died because of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda last month. :(
I'm really gonna miss her. I hope she's in a happy place now. She was one of the nicest people I've met.
I also went to Tacloban City last Sunday and I have confirmed that 95% of my things there including my precious drawings that you can see here in my profile are gone already because of the flood. But it's okay.
Atleast I only lost my things, not my family. :)

Typhoon Yolanda

2 min read
Hey, guys! Sorry for the very long hiatus.
Unfortunately, we were affected by the strongest typhoon in history.
We didn't have electricity here for almost 3 weeks.
I was here in Catbalogan, my hometown, during the flood in Tacloban, my birthplace, so that's why I'm still alive. There was about 90% that I could have died if I was in Tacloban. I'm very thankful that my family is safe and that my relatives in Tacloban survived but at the same time, I'm sad for the people who died and who lost their loved ones. I'm also sad because my drawings in Tacloban are probably gone already... but ofcourse, that doesn't mean I'll stop drawing.
Anyway, they said that classes in Tacloban will resume in January next year but knowing that it's gonna be hard living there already (since the house we made there is practically in a wreck) I've decided to transfer here in my hometown with the same course I took up in my school in Tacloban.
Recently, my cousin and I had a motor accident. But I'm okay. My body doesn't hurt that much anymore and my wounds are healing already.
I'm trying to adjust to my new school now and so far, it's been fun though there are times when it gets pretty lonely since I'm an irregular student already but that's nothing I couldn't handle.
I was in Manila during the sembreak and came home before the typhoon struck. It was really great to be able to see my former classmates in Taguig again! :)
Hmm. What else? I've been fixing my room and watching some anime in the past weeks. It's like sembreak was extended here. xD There was panic buying (running out of supplies) since most places in Samar and Leyte were affected by the typhoon. It's a good thing Calbayog and Catbalogan (our place) wasn't that affected cuz otherwise we'd all be suffering~
That's all for now. :)

Hi, guys! Can't believe I didn't update last month... not even once. There isn't much anything to say though. It's just that last month, I felt like being anti-social for a while because of something and that something was mentally disturbing so I was having a lot of internal conflicts. Anyway, I don't wanna talk about it since it's okay now.

So far, what I remember is that last week, my Philippine Literature professor already announced our grades for our group works. One of our group assignment was to do something creative (like, do a roleplay or a voice choir) that will represent art, music, prayer, nature and music. Art was assigned to us and we're the ones who presented first. In our group, I was the narrator and the painter. I was also the one in charge of the background music. Somehow, our presentation lacked some preparation so I felt like we didn't do a good job. I was worried that we'll get the lowest grade, especially when the presentations of the other groups seemed better than ours. Much to our surprise, we actually got the highest grade. I was very relieved and thankful. It's like God answered my prayer.

Last Thursday afternoon, I went to my hometown. I didn't get to hangout with my friends that much since I was busy reviewing for midterms but I did get to hangout with them and I made a new friend who's also an otaku and an artist. He's actually the little brother of my sister's classmates back in high school. He's a friend of Gazz who I just met last month. Gazz is a bassist and electric guitarist of a rock band that was formed in my hometown. He loves watching anime. He was generous enough to let me copy all episodes of some anime series he downloaded. When he comes here in Tacloban City (my birthplace), we would usually hang out since he doesn't know a lot of people here. I don't mind accompanying him when I'm not busy, that's all. There's nothing special between us. (He's like a big bro to me though.) Anyway, back in my hometown, I gathered stuff I needed to bring here (e.g. my otakuzines, how-to-draw manuals) and I looked for Charleston (my lil bro's friend) to give him my NSTP book which he'll be using next semester at his school. CJ and Darlene (Deanne's sister... I'm sure I mentioned Deanne before) borrowed my Sims 2 CD and she tried installing it. Unfortunately, Sims 2 failed to work on CJ's computer. I'm currently waiting for Darlene's update. She said she didn't try playing yet because... she has a lot of assignments. And speaking of Darlene, we ate lunch at Pizza Factory with Gazz before I left for Tacloban. That was Samar Day so on that day, there was a parade which hindered me from coming home easily (the parade was blocking the streets! asdfghjkl). Gazz gave me a hand-made ragdoll which is similar to the ones Sani-kun gave to me way back in 2010. (They both think I'm gothic, that's why)

Almost forgot. Last last Wednesday, my big sister, the one who I lived with back in Manila, just arrived. My family and I went to the airport to pick her up. I'm glad she had a safe trip. She gave me her netbook and her phone... the phone that she promised to give to me last year. Awesome, huh. But I actually had to remind her of her promise because she forgot! It's alright though. So now sis is in my hometown with my parents, grandparents, lil bro, cousin, uncle and great grandpa. I'm glad she's there because now lil bro doesn't have to feel so lonely anymore. *Actually cares for her lil bro*

A few days ago, when I was in my hometown, AJ informed me about Soul Eater's last chapter. At first, I couldn't believe it. People kept saying that Soul Eater was about to end already but I thought it shouldn't end yet because there are still many questions about it... questions left unanswered. Like, "What is Crona's true gender?" (Don't go saying she's/he's a boy or girl because if you're really an SE fan, you should know that his/her gender is still ambiguous but as far as I know, she's girl in the manga and boy in the anime. I prefer her to be girl because that's better that way, not only because I pair her up with Kid but also because she's more feminine than masculine to me... and it's not just based on her appearance.) I'm also curious about Maka's mom. I wanted to see her atleast once in the manga. Now I wonder if she's actually dead already. Speaking of death, I SERIOUSLY CAN'T BELIEVE CRONA'S DEAD ALREADY. I mean, sure, she sacrificed herself which is too nice of her but come on... she should have atleast been alive at the end. I wanted her to enjoy school life with Maka and the others again after all that battle in the moon. I wanted to see her talking with Kid. :( But I know I can't do anything about it. I just wish it ended like that. And about the ending, I was having mixed feelings about it but this guy here www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGtUle… comforted me. I completely agree with everything he said. He made me look at the last chapter in a more positive way. I was shocked about Marie being pregnant especially because I wrote a fanfic about Marie having a child with Stein. LOL~ Moreover, it's great to see Kid being the new shinigami! :D And that Soul was recognized as the last Death Scythe. Needless to say, it's a happy ending. And it would have been more satisfying if Crona was alive. (Gonna be honest here... I cried a river of tears after reading the last chapter because... I WON'T BE READING ANY SOUL EATER CHAPTERS ANYMORE. It has been fun reading it since 2011! SE will always be my fave.)

Lastly, this week we had our midterm exams and we'll still have some next week. I'm just taking a break right now 'cause it's Friday night. I lacked sleep for the past days because... I was also working on our group project. As you can see... I'm busy. And on my free time, I would usually just watch anime. I would draw but I wouldn't wanna share it because there's no scanner here so sorry if I haven't been updating for a while now. But good news, as I mentioned earlier, I went home to get my how-to-draw manga manuals so expect that I'll be practicing (although I may not show my drawings here for a while). About my stories in fanfic... I apologize for not updating yet! ;___; I'll try to update this weekend or next week.

Take care, my friends. :)

Just wanted to say I finished Anohana and 12 episodes of Shingeki no Kyojin this week. I love them! Anohana usually gave me that warm, peaceful feeling. I cried at several episodes. Haha! And as expected, Shingeki was epic (or shall we say mind-blowing). I'm loving all the characters already especially Eren! :) I think SnK is my new obsession now. You guys might find me drawing characters from there. xD

Okay, about me and life. I'm pretty much doing fine. My cough is gone now so I can finally be as energetic as I want to be. This week hasn't been very busy unlike last week. Recently, mom and dad were here which solved some of my problems. There was a typhoon here. It's gone now though. It's going to be the first day of July soon! I'll be using my school uniform already. xD K, that's all.
